Devils Lake Trip

This summer was full of adventures and one of them was a two day trip with my family. My brother came up from Georgia with his cute little boston terrier Lucy. We went and swam the first day at Devils Lake and then hiked a bunch the second day. Devils lake (in Wisconsin) is a very small and shallow lake surrounded by bluffs. It's also a state park so you can camp there! It's very pretty and our family has been there many times. Here's some shots from our trip!

It was a great trip and I am glad that I got a chance to see my brother! :) We ended it with a picnic on the beach. It was awesome!

Have a great Monday everyone!!

Currently working on...

So this week was a little off with many surprises/obligations that delayed me posting much. So now back on track and feeling good!

So an illustrator friend of mine, Sarah of Obsolete Skateboards, asked me to be part of her 'Art Is Obsolete' Hand Painted Skate Deck Art Show & Music Blowout. I am very excited and she gave me a broken board to paint on. I have already started painting the board but first I planned it out in illustrator since I'm not much of a painter and transfered it to the deck. I am excited! I think I am going to add some sparkle paint :)

Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Goals: 23 before 24

So after by 23rd birthday I decided to do the "list of goals before your next birthday" that I kept seeing everywhere. Mine is 23 before 24. It's kinda embarrassing to show this, plus I know I won't accomplish ALL of them, but I have some already and it's fun to dream :) Plus it's nice to see where I am since I am exactly 4 months away from my birthday.

Have a great saturday everyone! :)

Arrow & Apple, Assignment #1

So I mentioned before that I am taking Arrow & Apple's lighting e-course to improve my photography skills. I have already gone through all of it and applied it to what I have been doing, but I have not done any of the assignments yet which I think is important. So here is the first one. She talks about how different lightbulbs get you different results. She goes more in depth on it in the course and I highly suggest you invest it. It's super helpful. Just click the link at the bottom of the post!

This was fun to do with Nick doing what he does naturally. It was cool because I have a lamp with three lights so it was easy just to switch one on at a time and not deal with hot bulbs! I added a soft bulb in there to see what I would get.

I'm really excited to continue doing this once a week. I just need more volunteers to take pictures of them! :)

Currently working on...

So I had this amazing client recently, Caylee. She wanted a custom portrait done of her and her husband to be Theuns. They are super cute couple from South Africa and she was super nice through the whole process. We communicated a lot about what style, colors, and details she wanted in the portrait. I came up with a solution to make a pattern for the background to include items that meant a lot to them, plus she got a free pattern! She also sent me the fonts and colors she wanted as well. Also a couple pictures of them! They look so cute!

Here is a really sweet comment from her:

"Ah, I'm so very happy with this. It's adorable. AND THAT PATTERN. I might squee so hard that I burst. I am so happy that I found you. I'm so happy you were given this talent. I'm so happy you decided to put your talent on ETsy. I'm just so happy for all these things that lead up to the illustration. THANK YOU ROBIN. I don't think I'll ever be able to type out my happiness and gratitude and love for this pic. I expected a lot from you and you completely surpassed my expectations. I have no idea how you managed to do BETTER than I thought you would, but you did. Ten fold. Infinity fold.

Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou."

She is really a client to remember! Thank you Caylee!

You can get your own custom portrait at my etsy shop!

Have a great day!

My Jewelry Collection!

I thought it would be fun to take a couple photos of my jewelry collection! I love my orange slice tray and my variety of pretend readers. Oh I threw in my perfumes too. This post is just for fun! Enjoy!

And my favorite piece is my charm necklace. I wear this everyday and it has many charms that are very meaningful to me.

Thanks guys! Enjoy your saturday!!
