Linda may be the one to wrap up Fall "Street Style" week since weather has been not so pretty this week. But check out her mustard sweater and skull collar clips! Cute! Linda Tran is from Dallas, Texas and is currently studying illustration at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, in Minnesota (graduating in 2013). Linda loves animals, food, MMOs, fairytales, and mythology.
Today on our fall "street style" we have Jenny Jorns! Jenny is receiving a BFA in Illustration at the Minneapolis College of Art + Design. When she graduates, she aims to work in propmaking and freelance illustration. Her traditional skill set includes watercolour, ink, traditional book binding, collage, cut paper, digital, and acrylic paints. Her internships with Pit Viper Studios gave her skills in propmaking, mold creation, and fiberglass and resin casting, as well as concept illustration.
Today for our fall "street style" we have Kelsey King, a talanted illustrator. With a strong sense of fantasy and a little whimsy, her illustrations strive for an elegance that is inspired in history, myth, and fairy tales. Her style in her illustrations uses a high level of detail and pattern to create a visual seduction that at times contrasts with darker content.
If you were wondering, yes she knitted that comfy awesome scarf herself! Amazing!
Hello everyone! I am so excited to be doing this fall "street style" week! It's so pretty this fall I HAD to do something!
To start it off we have Rebeca Solares! She is an adorable photographer! She's originally from Dallas, Texas and moved to Minnesota to attend Minneapolis College of Art and Design to pursue a Bachelors of Fine Art degree in Photography. A majority of her photographs are shot with analog (film) cameras as well with some digital. She makes photographs in fine art, editorial, portrait, and photojournalism areas.
I really believe in reflection. I think it's an amazing practice and is necessary in all aspects of life. I do it constantly to keep me grounded. So much has been going on in the past month (including me having to get a part time job as a cashier) and I found myself breaking down a lot. You won't find me talking about my personal life much on here but I thought it was just needed for me to explain why I have slowed down a little.
After a year and a half of trying to get some job related to my major I ended up just getting a part-time (art unrelated) one for now. When they asked me if I wanted the job my heart sank, I felt like I let myself down or that this shows that somehow I wasn't going to ever succeed in an art field. Which now just sounds silly.
I just need money, that's why I am doing this. Also I am fortunate to be in a situation to keep my hours limited and have time to continue with the business and blog. Plus this gets me out of the house. Honestly looking back I should not have let this bring down as much as it did.
I just needed a little reflection. I really did. I have a great life with a loving fiance, great pets, best parents, brother, in-laws, supportive family, best friend, and the coolest friends (new & old), and WONDERFUL supporters. I posted something on my facebook thanking everyone, but here is good too. I can't repeat enough how thankful I am to be able to do what I do and have the love that I have.
Actually getting a job should not be something to throw me off my horse. Now I know. Just got to keep moving.
Fall is here! And already is passing very quickly. I'm very excited about the next couple of weeks. I am taking shots of my wonderful cute friends "street style" in their favorite fall outfits. I am so excited! It starts today with a couple of them! I am also a little behind for halloween but I will catch up to that in no time. So look out for these wonderful fall posts to come! For now here are a few shots I have so far captured of our fall.
Have a lovely day everyone! Enjoy the weather before it starts to get chilly!
Still busy here at Something Nice! But here is a cute trend board for the Presidential Election! No matter what's important to you or who you may be voting for it's a great feeling to vote for something you believe in! Enjoy these cuties!
Hello! I decided to make some wallpapers to share since I love it when other people share their's like Design Love Fest. I made an illustrated one for your desktop and iPhone and one from my latte photograph for both as well. Enjoy!
