Our Custom Portraits

Now with Wedding invitations in the making and valentines day approaching I thought it would be great to remind everyone that I do custom portraits! They are available in my etsy shop and you can find out more about them here

Below I have printed some past orders and documented them to show them off a little. And if you are curious about the process I have a pervious blog post about working with one of my customers Caylee.

Knives of course must always make an appearance.

Have a great day lovlies :)

Updates, improvements, and plans

Now I haven't been posting as much as I would like. I felt so good about posting everyday in September and then I got my part-time job and was working 37 hours a week (mainly during daylight hours) and couldn't keep up. Following with hosting for each holiday, even New Years! I didn't even document much of that. I feel like I have pushed my creative thinking to the side these past couple of months. Even my social networking has been absent. I am hoping with some improvements, less time at work, and future plans I will be able to get back to where I was again.

I guess my improvements are just continuing with improvements I established a couple months ago. I will continue to work on my photography skills and my content. I have purchased Red Velvet's Blog (Design) Love e-course. I would just like our blog to go more to the design side. Which makes me want to mention I will posting more illustrations and designs to this blog. As much as I want this to be a lifestyle blog I do want to add a lot more design to it, rather then just documenting and sharing. I want to work with other artists and friends. Have topics we can illustrate/design to. I already have some  projects in mind. I just want to have more unique and interesting overall content.

In my personal life all I can do is just keep thinking about future plans, making lists, and goals. I even had a "meeting" with my future husband since he is on his last semester of school and I have yet to be in a situation where I make a decent income. We talked about our dream jobs, locations, and a couple of back up plans. I felt pretty good after the discussion and I think this year will be great.

My overall plan this year is to really build up Something Nice Designs. At the end of the year I would like it to be in a postion where I could live off it. I want to do more freelance jobs, new products, new professional look for our website and products.

I apologize if this is all boring and too much of a personal log but I just felt like sharing what has been going on and what to expect in the future. At least you have some pretty pictures to look at. :)

Thanks guys! Have a wonderful wednesday!

Happy Birthday!

January always seems to be the month of Birthdays! Which made me think about that I don't have too many Birthday illustrations, so I made some! I made several different looks just for fun, a pattern too! Enjoy!

And if it's your birthday, well Happy Birthday!

Life recently...

Life has been crazy the past two months! We have been selling our stuff all over the place! Fairs, boutiques, and our own pop up shop! We also have being getting many custom orders and we couldn't be more grateful. I just thought I would just show little snap shots of our adventures and the snowy midwest. :)

We were invited by the very nice and adorable Elisa to join her Finch's Holiday Boutique this year! It's a wonderful two day boutique that sells local artists work and raises money for the American Cancer Society. It was fantastic and I got a lot of my christmas shopping done there! Below are two pictures I got from the boutiques blog and were taken by the talented Erin Smith Photography.

Winter Street Style - Katie & Stella

Today we have Katie Rausch for our winter street style! She is a talented fine artist and a wonderful teacher. This shoot was especially fun since she brought her German Shepard puppy Stella! She was so cute!

Every time we were done taking a certain picture Stella would run to me thinking my camera was a toy. So cute!

Thanks Katie & Stella!
